Build your own capsule wardrobe kit easily with these brands

Creating a capsule wardrobe means building a closet of clothing that works well for your daily needs, often with core pieces that you can mix and match easily saving you time and energy. How to put one together that works with your individual style, best coloring, budget and other needs is another story. It can be easy to go with the classic style or neutral colors that are shown online when you search capsule wardrobe but really it should be curated just for you and not a cookie cutter closet.

I've done extensive research on brands that work well for my capsule wardrobe and sharing my top favorites because they integrate well into my closet and check so many boxes for me. This is not an ad.

Affordability, capsule specific, direct to consumer model, logo free, quality, style

Quince is the brand we all deserve, with high quality materials like wool, alpaca and cashmere but lower prices than their competitors and a 365 day return policy. You're not paying for marketing or the name brand that others companies make you pay for and they remind you of that on each product page listing their direct competitors for each item with price comparisons and breakdowns of their production costs. This is a place to get your dreamy investment pieces without having to sacrifice an entire paycheck. Their new items sell out quickly, so recommend keeping them bookmarked.

Capsule specific, direct to consumer model, inclusive branding, logo free, quality, versatility

It's not often you can find brands that have capsules actually built out for you in nuanced sizing. They also offer bundle discounts when you buy the capsule. With versatility like swappable pieces, reversible items, and products that can be worn in multiple ways by adding or taking away with zippers or ties. The brand for building a capsule wardrobe and for fitting more in your suitcase with less.

High end, logo free, quality, style, sustainability

It's hard for American brands to beat the French in fashion, so why even try? With e-commerce we can access global clothing to expand our style. This brand is like the Anthropologie of France and I'm here for it with its' cozy sweaters that fall off your shoulders with a sexy sort of je ne sais quoi, classic French striped marinieres, and bohemian florals.

Four words: cashmere sweater for $75. These 100% Mongolian cashmere sweaters are part of their essential collection and I too would like to think of cashmere as a necessary item in my wardrobe. They have over 10 colors in their core collection and 15+ colors that are limited edition. Just be sure to have cashmere wash, cedar spray, and a cashmere comb on hand to keep it fresh and well cared for.

Affordability, dependability, logo-free, style

A Mediterranean brand that brings a bit of edge to my style, with European clothing that just feels like it's made for women. Feels higher-end than an H&M and brings a softer edge than Zara. A name brand, so it's reliable with shipping and returns.

Affordability, logo-free, style

I like this brand because they offer great wedding guest dresses, bridesmaid dresses, party dresses and more. They offer different color ranges like cool jewel tones, warm autumn colors, soft, deep and bright colors alike making it a great fit for all. It could be a one stop shop for all the dresses in your wardrobe.

Capsule specific, comfortability, inclusive branding, logo-free, style

This brand offers comfortable, smooth sweatpant-like outfits that are tailored to look put together and even office ready. The outfits are modern, great for a luxe monochromatic look, and remind me that we don't have to sacrifice comfort for style.

Affordability, comfortability, quality, style
Another French brand making its way to the list but I just can't help my love for the European style. These shoes are made for those who do parkour and martial arts so they have high cushion and are the most comfortable sneakers I've worn. Those with a visible logo have a vintage style and the others have a monochromatic logo that blends in with the shoe. I love the cream ones and the navy ones.
